Staying in homestay can be problematic for international students. Showers often cause conflict because Australians take daily showers of 10-20 minutes each morning and students may expect more time. Dinner time can also be difficult because of the food and table manners. Ask your homestay provider what they expect in terms of dinner and shower use. Do not be afraid to make suggestions, but be polite at all times.
