By now, if you're any kind of football fan, you've probably heard of this year's Heisman Trophy winner - Auburn QB Cam Newton. But then again, maybe you haven't? Perhaps you've been living in your grandparents' basement, eating microwavable pizza rolls, listening to the soundtrack from Coyote Ugly over and over again, and you've never heard of this astoundingly talented kid that some even compare to former Virginia Tech QB Michael Vick.
To me, comparing him to Vick only works if you're comparing them athletically. Cam Newton can run. Period. Vick on the other hand, became an elite QB in the NFL this year, because he didn't run. He learned to throw the ball accurately and only became a runner as a second option.
So what makes Cam Newton special? For starters, he lead the Auburn Tigers to a 2010 BCS National Championship and won the Heisman Trophy, a yearly award that goes to college football's most valuable player - all in his first and only year as the starting Quarterback.
