There's really only a handful of really interesting moments to this otherwise forgettable new take on killer fish attacking unsuspecting victims in the water. Unlike its much bigger -- and better -- cousin Jaws, this latest Piranha film goes for the cheap laughs, over-exaggerated gore and gratuitous nudity.
Truly a good time, if you're into that kind of thing -- at the expense of quality, story or acting ability. No one should expect a whole lotta mystery out of this one: piranhas get loose, head for the nearest Spring Break festivities and get snacking. Even the trailers for this 3-D extravaganza gave that much away.
An Overview of Piranha 3-D (As if You Needed One)
It's a warm Spring Break time at Lake Victoria, Arizona, and a long weekend of festivities is about to begin.
