The Pac-10 hopes to earn at two bids to the NCAA tournament and the 2010 Pac-10 conference tournament will go a long way in giving the NCAA tournament committee a clear picture of who those teams should be.
2010 Pac-10 Conference Tournament
The Pac-10 Conference Tournament has many evenly balanced teams, but that is a major problem. In a conference where only one team has shown a proclivity to win most games, seemingly every other game has been a toss-up. Evenly balanced does not necessarily mean good basketball. This leaves the possibility that a "favorite" could get bounced in just about any game.
The Pac-10 Conference is having a down year, and according to many NCAA tournament projections, only one Pac-10 team is going to make it to the 2010 NCAA Tournament. There are three teams with single digit losses during the 2009-2010 college basketball season including California, Arizona State, and Washington, meaning that there are several teams on the bubble heading into these Pac-10 Conference Tournament games. The first game though, is between Oregon and Washington State, as they play on Wednesday night. A surprise win by a team other than Cal may knock off a bubble team or one of the many teams vying for a bid from the Atlantic 10 conference.
