There are many colleges and universities in the United States that offer online MBA degrees. Some are traditional, regionally accredited; others are for profit institutions but also regionally accredited. Then there are those colleges that are not regionally accredited but are nationally accredited by the Distance Education Training Council.

The University of North Alabama offers an online MBA and while UNA is regionally accredited, it subcontracts marketing and admissions information gathering for its online MBA program to another university. This business decision has allowed UNA to forego tuition increases and offer one of the lowest cost MBA programs in the country. Additionally, the College of Business is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Requirements for Online MBA Degree and Executive MBA Degree

The University of North Alabama’s online MBA program, while similar to numerous other traditional and online MBA programs, is also unique in that in addition to a typical professional MBA, UNA also offers an Executive MBA. The professional online MBA requires 12 courses and 34 semester hours of coursework and the Executive MBA requires 11 courses and 31 semester hours of coursework. Also unique among many online MBA programs is that UNA also requires that certain academic prerequisites be met. The school also requires the GMAT unless the applicant has already achieved an earned graduate degree.
